Advisor Development
June - August 2021 • Dallas, TX
What I liked
It was a very in-depth overview of what the career of a Financial Advisor entails and the path it takes to get there, I found it to be a great learning experience and very realistic
What I wish was different
It was virtual so obviously an in-office experience would have been better but it was not as hand-on as I would have liked, I wish there were more one-on-one sessions and ability to see how the client interacts with an advisor
Advice
Financial Advising is just another name for the sales industry, it's hard work, you have to build your customer base and your potential is based on how well you build your book of business and network. It an be successful but it takes time.

What I liked
I liked the amount of time that I was given to network.
What I wish was different

Advice
The first week of the internship was the hardest for myself personally. There was a Data Analysis project, as a HR intern I was confused as to why I was tasked with this. Thankfully, it is a group project so be open with your partners about your strengths and weaknesses.
