What I liked

I loved working at a high-paced advocacy organization that works on one of the most dynamic political issues in the country. I feel like I got a great sense of how effective advocacy organizations work and I gained a much more thorough understanding of the ins-and-outs of our political system.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had been more proactive about networking with individuals at the organization so that I could have built a network of people to reach out to when looking for future opportunities.

Advice

Network, network, network! You never know what building a relationship with someone might deliver you down the road, and regardless, it's good to get a sense of how people got to their current positions so that you can be better informed of potential career opportunities post-graduation.
