Operations/Business Intern

Advanced Management Strategies Group (AMSG) is looking for an Operations Intern for Summer 2023 to support our fast-growing Headquarters office located in Dumfries, VA. AMSG is a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) verified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). AMSG supports a variety of Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) programs and performance management services. Location: Hybrid: AMSG Corporate Office (3800 Fettler Park Drive, Suite 201) Dumfries, VA & Remote
Hours: 32-40hrs a week
Education: Current college student majoring in Business Administration, Management or Operations
Pay: $16.00-$20.00 an hour based on the year in college.

General Description: AMSG is seeking an Intern to support the Vice President of Operations, Director of Budget, Finance & Contracts, and the Director of Personnel & Human Resource. The Operations Intern is a professional who will assist in AMSG’s day-to-day operational efforts. The Intern will gain knowledge of all phases of operations by supporting human resource requirements, Contracts, Budget, and Finance efforts and learn/support Account/Project Managers with their daily contract requirements. 
Responsibilities:
·        Assist with recruitment activities such as; cold calls to potential hires and scheduling of interviews
·        Support the Onboarding/Orientation process
·        Assist and manage company training efforts
·        Upload hardcopy of completed training into SP (currently in employee folders)
·        Attend corporate staff meetings and take meeting minutes
·        Update and maintain company files:
o  Conduct company-wide resume audit
o  Conduct company-wide position description audit
·        Check and scan mail daily
·        Refill sodas/waters/teas/coffees
·        Upload Contracts/Work Orders/Modifications to SharePoint
·        Update Contract Data Tracker
·        Update CPARs Tracker
·        Update spreadsheet from company recruiting tool (Applicant Stack) for 2024 Affirmative Action data requirements
·        Perform an audit on company assets (computers, monitors, MIFI’s, copiers, etc.)
 
Qualifications
·        Strong desire to learn along with the professional drive.
·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·        Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
·        Current enrollment in a related BS or Master’s degree.
