Executive Office of the President - Office of National Drug Control Policy Spring 2023 Intern

INTRODUCTION TO THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The Executive Office of the President (EOP) is hosting an EOP-wide paid internship program. The EOP Internship Program will provide a stipend to participants.

The EOP is comprised of fourteen components, including: The White House Office (WHO), the Office of the Vice President (OVP), the Council of Economic Advisers (CEA), the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), the Office of Administration (OA), the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the Office of the National Cyber Director (NCD), the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), and more.

INTRODUCTION TO THE OFFICE OF NATIONAL DRUG CONTROL POLICY
The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) sets governmentwide policy aimed at reducing the
availability of illicit and controlled substances, and reducing substance use through public health interventions focused on preventing substance use, treatment for those dealing with substance use disorder, and developing and strengthening programs for those in recovery.

INTERNSHIP DETAILS
The Spring 2023 internship term begins on January 23, 2023, and ends on April 14, 2023. Interns will receive stipend payments of $375/week for part-time interns and $750/week for full-time interns. Part-time is considered a minimum of 15 hours/week to 34 hours/week. Full-time is considered 35 – 40 hours/week. Stipend payments will be calculated based the full-time or part-time rate multiplied by the 12 weeks between 1/23/23 and 4/14/23. Two thirds of the overall stipend amount will be paid on or about the beginning of the internship; the remaining one third will be paid upon successful completion of the internship. In the event an internship ends early for any reason, the intern may be required to reimburse the government for any stipend amounts paid to the intern. All internships are located in Washington, D.C. All intern schedules are Monday – Friday and interns may only work between the hours of 7am – 7pm ET.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Males must be registered with Selective Service
  • Must be able to commit to at least 15 hours per week
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate college, community college, or university at least half-time
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
