MRC Fundraising and Development Paid Internship - Fall 2022

Want to learn more about fundraising, donor relations, and development? The Media Research Center is looking for interns in our development department! Our competitive internships pay $11/hr.

As a Development intern, you will gain valuable experience in fundraising, events preparation and planning, and database administration. The Media Research Center has a complex database of supporters who give at the individual and foundation level: regularly and once-in-a-lifetime. Development interns learn the operations of a nonprofit that keep its programs functioning: it is the forward facing department to all supporters.

Qualifications of an MRC Development intern:

  • Ability to present ideas concisely and clearly in writing
  • A passion for nonprofit work and a desire to promote MRC’s mission to supporters
  • A willingness to work with donors, both by phone and email in order to meet needs
  • Possible experience in fundraising, grant-writing, or database maintenance would be helpful, but not required

The Media Research Center is a 501(c)3 research and education organization that has been the nation’s premier media watchdog since 1987. We are committed to neutralizing left-wing bias in the news media and popular culture. We do this through journalism (CNSNews.com), analysis and research (NewsBusters), blogs and video (MRCTV), and a complex grassroots and marketing initiative. Because we are a nonprofit, we are careful about our resources, and one of our greatest resources is a team of interns who are excited to learn and promote our work.

This internship is designed for conservative-minded students and recent graduates. We hire interns during three semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer). The current application is for our Fall internship program. Our internship for the Fall 2022 session begins on September 12th and runs through December 2nd.
