Description
Reporting to the Athletics Director the athletic operations coordinator will provide administrative and logistics support to the department of athletics. This position will aid in all administrative areas of St. Albans Athletics, including maintaining calendars and schedules, maintaining departmental records, maintaining and updating athletic web site content, planning and supporting special events, coordinating events and schedules with other school departments, and coordinating schedules and logistics with opponents, officials and media.
Specifically, areas of responsibilities will include:
Maintain all athletic rosters.
Maintain team, player and coach registrations and credentials with leagues, state associations, and national associations.
Manage team and department calendars.
Confirm games, opponents, officials, transportation and special events on a weekly basis.
Ensure content on athletics-related pages of the STA web site, league web sites, media web sites, and social media is current.
Liaison with coaches and athletic department staff weekly on upcoming events.
Liaison with team managers and coaches to plan special events and keep team calendars current.
Assist in coordinating game logistics and management.
Attend all school and department calendar meetings.
Maintain personnel records and credentialing records for athletics coaches and support staff.
Greet and assist visitors.
Respond to routine athletics inquires.
Assist coaches with maintaining inventory records for uniforms, equipment and supplies.
Assist in budgeting and purchasing athletic equipment and supplies.
Take the lead on office tasks, including generating reports and presentations, setting up for meetings, and reordering supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
The position may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an athletics department and knowledge of athletic operations in independent schools;
Ability to independently plan, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks;
Demonstrated strategic skills in short- and long-term planning and facilitation and collaboration;
Ability to negotiate, mitigate conflict, and build alliances;
Experience managing people and teams to achieve desired results;
Creative, innovative, and strategic thinking ability;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills;
Ability to work efficiently and quickly under pressure;
