Associate in the Pareto’s Professional Development Program

Pareto’s Professional Development Program
Pareto Professional Development Program (PPDP) is an intensive (yet fun) six-month training program. As a member of the Class of 2022 you will join ~30 other Pareto Health new hires who have accepted roles in Underwriting, Account Management, Marketing & Sales. During these six months you will learn the intricacies of the healthcare & benefits insurance market, Pareto’s value proposition, how to succeed in your new role, and how to succeed in your career. You will also complete group projects with your team members, learn key technologies, and build professional skills such as public speaking. This is a highly selective program and we are committed to making this a launching pad for your career.

The program will be broken up into three semesters, with the first semester beginning on approximately June 1, 2022 and the last semester ending at the end of the calendar year. You will be taught by a combination of outside industry experts, in-house functional experts, and professional trainers. After completing the program, you will have an in-depth knowledge of the industry and the skills you need to ‘hit the ground running’ and immediately help your functional team succeed. Our goal is to make you an immediate contributor of the Pareto team while at the same time helping you develop the skills you need to succeed in your career.

The six-month training program will be held in Philadelphia, PA. Candidates recruited from other areas will be provided a stipend for temporary housing and will return to their home office location prior to the holidays.

Required Personal Characteristics
We want team members who exude our core values. If you believe each of the four core values listed below are values you can master, we want you as part of our team.
  1. Get it Done and Get it Done Right – We crank out work at higher rates and at a higher quality than our peers in the industry. Our ability to do a lot with a little is a driving force behind Pareto Health, one that’s made our brand synonymous with class, quality, and extreme competence.
  2. Fire in the Belly - We only make time for champions; we only consider those with an inner desire to excel and push things forward. Our team, our partners, our members–everyone in the Pareto Health universe–works hard, learns constantly, improves furiously, and does so with a fire in the belly.
  3. Sees the Field - As you’re stuck thinking about tomorrow, we’re already on to thinking about next year. Pareto Health embodies a culture of anticipation, perception, and acting with intent. In one-on-ones, in meetings, at a company level, and at an industry level, we’re always two steps ahead.
  4. For the Greater Good - Our vision extends past the here and now. We’re rowing in the same direction toward the common goal of transforming an industry. It’s our accountability, teamwork, and responsibility that ensure as we’re changing industry tides, we’re helping them rise. Now watch as we lift all boats in the process.

Pareto Health
Established in 2011, Pareto Health is changing the way employers take control of their health benefits. We are the largest employee benefit group captive manager in the country -- with $2 billion in health spend, 1,500 customers and 375,000 covered lives across all industries.

We are a private-equity backed, rapidly growing company. Our powerful new approach to financing employee benefits reduces costs without increasing the risk. Pareto is uniquely positioned to help a large swath of the market adopt smart, sustainable, multiyear strategies for optimal healthcare delivery.

WHO WE ARE
People who take their work—but not themselves—seriously. If you’ve been called a sponge or an overachiever and “sense of humor” is high on your list of personal attributes, you’ll be in good company.

WHAT WE DO
We challenge convention, our industry, and ourselves. Doing our jobs well means repeatedly reimagining what’s possible. We’re optimizing healthcare delivery and putting an end to insurance as usual.

WHY WE DO IT
We believe in change for the better. The status quo isn’t cutting it (especially for mid-sized employers). We like rooting for the underdogs. “Insurance” and “interesting” can co-exist in a sentence.

Pareto Perks
Pareto offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with skills and experience. In addition, Pareto offers a robust benefits package including Medical (100% employer paid), Dental, Vision, STD/LTD, and employer 401(k)contribution. We are experiencing 40-50% growth year over year, which means there are real opportunities for both vertical and horizontal development career growth.
