Archdiocese of Washington Summer Internship

The mission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is to spread the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. In the faithful pursuit of this mission, the archdiocese is seeking a Summer Intern for the Office of Evangelization and Young Adult Ministry.

This is a ten (10) week paid internship position from June through August. The Intern will arrange for a schedule between 20 to 40 hours per week. The Intern will be someone interested in working in pastoral ministry to collaborate on young adult ministry events including Archdiocesan Young Adult Training, Archdiocesan Young Adult retreat, National World Youth Day stateside celebration, and other projects so as to learn and practice skills for ministerial project management, evangelization, event planning, best practices in social media, volunteer recruitment and management.

The Intern will be responsible for conducting research on topics in parish evangelization and young adult ministry, communicating with different departments within the Central Pastoral Administration, coordinating event logistics, developing social media content, and other administrative and ministerial tasks.

The Intern must be familiar with Church’s mission and teachings. The Intern should be a practicing Catholic who supports the teachings of the Catholic Church. Excellent logistical skills, organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, as well as command of the English language are required. Ability to focus, multi-task, and work well under pressure; manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment; and work both independently and as a team player. Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite as well as a familiarity with social media platforms.
